This week in music….

The Vaccines are set to record their  second album in March with producer Ethan Johns. Ethan produced for Radiohead on King of Limbs as well as with Ryan Adams. Justin Young told NME:

“The reason we wanted to work with Ethan is not because he’s a hit manufacturer, but he’s a real songs man. If you listen to the records he’s made, there’s a real warmth there, all his albums are simple, but really well crafted and it feels like they really breathe. Our first record is quite linear, so it’d be nice to have something that breathes a bit more and with a bit more warmth and maturity, but that still sounds like us.”

They released a single late last year and could be a small glimpse into what the band will have on their next album:

You can hear Of Montreal‘s eleventh studio album ‘Paralytic Stalks’ exclusively on NME.COM

The record, which isn’t released until February 6, was produced by the band’s vocalist Kevin Barnes, with help from engineer Drew Vandenberg which worked with Deerhunter and Toro Y Moi. They will be playing in Houston on March 11th at Fitzgerald’s.
