Are you tired of seeing festival lineups yet? I am certainly not and each day that there is a new release of the line up I merely see hints as to what the year is going to bring. Festivals in the spring traditionally sum up the music which hit people the most at the end of the previous year and will mark the bands or artists of the current year. With that, some festivals just have a good mix of both, keeping in with the familiar bands and artist we know and love as well as throwing in a few newbies to test the waters.
Looking at Sasquatch, a festival which runs from May 24th – 27th in Quincy Washington, there is a great mix of hipster and mainstream, of urban and country vibes, and finally just a lot of win.
The big hits from the past year hit the headliners like Mumford and Sons, The xx, Arctic Monkeys, Alt-J, Arctic Monkeys with the newbies of this year (both musically and with new records) The Postal Service, Vampire Weekend, The Lumineers, Empire of the Sun, Wild Belle, and Japandroids.
There are a lot of bigger names there as well that did not even make the headliners such as Steve Aoki, Laidback Luke, Grimes, El-P, or Black Rebel Motorcycle Club. Overall though this festival is as diverse as Coachella without as many bros.
